And so it begins..
·Hello World,
I decided to keep track of my work in a blog that I can share with people who might find it interesting. I'm going to try to build a small RPG heavily influenced by games like Non-stop Knight and Battle Heart Legacy. I'm not an artist or designer. I'm a lone programmer with a lot of industry friends so who knows maybe someone will want to help me out down the road.
I've been collecting assets and such from the Unity asset store for a while. Every time they have a sale I take a peek and pickup whatever looks interesting or might be useful in a future project.
I'm toying with the idea of having a world (planet) that has 5 orbiting moons. Something catastrophic happened the moon were partially destroyed throwing the planet off balance. All 5 of the moons went dark, no longer reflecting any light whatsoever from the sun. The great imbalance has wreaked havoc on the planet giving rise to legions of monsters from air land and sea.
Rumor has it that there are 5 relics that when brought together will restore the moons and the power each one provides. The moons will have names and maybe colors. Maybe magical, not sure yet.
I'm going to use Moon5 as the code name for the project because why not. Even though I haven't completely worked out the story line yet, I think its going to about restoring order to the world by finding and fixing the "5 moonstones" which will restore order to the world.
The player must travel the world in search of the 5 relics (moon stones) that when combined at a certain time and place will
Gathered assets from App Store during some sales and decided to make a game. Bringing together multiple assets sources is a pain in the ass.
Getting started
Ok Finally settled on a bunch of assets from M4. I’m going to be building up prefabs mostly from scratch and change textures eventually so even though I’m using some oldish pre-made, assets by the time lighting, post and paint-overs are done it will look completely different.
Made good progress on a sample room over the Weekend. Had a lot of fun with post processing. Here is a first attempt at getting some basic lighting. Why can’t I find Ambient Occlusion in the effects?
